700 Beneficiaries as Najran University Concludes the “Drug Epidemic” Awareness Campaign
Najran University concluded the awareness campaign titled "The Drug Epidemic", organized by the College of Pharmacy in cooperation with the General Directorate of Community Responsibility and the Deanship of Student Affairs. The campaign aimed to raise awareness among community members about the dangers and harmful effects of drugs, benefiting 700 individuals from all segments of society.
Dr. Ali Al-Shaabi, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, stated that the campaign targeted all community groups and included a drug awareness exhibition held at Najran Park Mall. The exhibition featured participation from several university colleges, the Tatman Student Club, the Law Student Club, the Najran Municipality, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, Irada Mental Health Complex, and the Azm Association for Addiction Recovery.
During the exhibition, the participating entities presented educational materials through more than six booths and eleven awareness posters, addressing the dangers of drug abuse, prevention methods, treatment options, and the strict legal penalties in the Kingdom for drug use and trafficking. Guidance was also provided on how addicts can be supported in overcoming various types of drug addiction.
Dr. Al-Shaabi added that the campaign featured eleven lectures targeting university students and high school students in the region, as well as interactive awareness displays about the drug epidemic.
